Responsibilities
The City of Seagoville provides environmental services such as:
Inspections of food establishments, childcare centers and foster homes
Permits and inspections for private sewage disposal systems contractually by Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS)
Monitoring and establishing vector/mosquito control in and around the City of Seagoville
Responding to environment health-related complaints in; general sanitation, indoor air quality, foodborne illness and stagnant water
Registered Sanitarian
A Registered Sanitarian, as prescribed by State law, performs all inspections of food establishments and private sewage disposal systems. The City of Seagoville has established by ordinance, the regulations for food and food establishments and the requirements for registration as a Food Service Manager. All fees shall be in accordance with the City of Seagoville Master Fee Schedule.
Goal
Our objective and goal is to prevent and protect the citizens of the City of Seagoville from diseases, as required by federal, state, and local laws, associated with:
Food
Animals
Vectors
Water
Solid and liquid wastes
Hazardous waste
This is accomplished by networking with Dallas County, which provides external support in areas of mosquito / vector control and disposal of household hazardous waste. DCHHS serves as the Public Health Authority for the City of Seagoville.
