National Night Out is a program designed to promote community involvement in crime prevention activities, police community partnerships, and neighborhood camaraderie. “Getting to know your neighbors is a big part in the fight against crime,” said Officer Kenny Dickerson of the S.P.D. Officer Dickerson stated “it sends a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and will report activities that appear out of the ordinary.”

There are several neighborhoods within the City that are participating in this year’s event.
