SEAGOVILLE TX – On September 13, 2016 at approximately 05:44 AM Officers with the Seagoville Police Department received a suspicious vehicle call involving possible theft of property in the 100 Blk. of E. Farmers Rd. Officers located a vehicle matching the description traveling southbound on Bowers Rd. where a pursuit ensued. During the pursuit suspect fired multiple shots at pursuing Officers. There were no officers injured as a result of the shots fired and the suspect vehicle wrecked a short time later into a ditch embankment at the intersection of Bowers Rd. and W. Simonds Rd. The suspect fled the area on foot into a very heavily wooded and underbrush area.
Seagoville Officers assisted by the Dallas Police Department and Dallas County Sheriff’s Department searched by land and by air; however the suspect still remained at large. Officers received a tip that the suspect may have been transported to a nearby mobile home park on South Beltline Rd. in the City of Dallas by an unsuspecting individual and dropped off. Officers checked the lead and discovered a subject who matched that of the suspect’s description inside the residence and took the subject into custody without incident. The suspect whose name is not being released at this moment faces a list of charges to include Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant, Evading Arrest or Detention, and Theft of Property.
