[ARCHIVED] North Central Texas 9-1-1 Outage Affects Seagoville 9-1-1 Service

North Central Texas (NCT) 9-1-1 has experienced outages since early morning on December 29, 2018.   These outages are caused by the NCT 9-1-1 system’s internet provider, and are affecting the entire North Texas area.

Seagoville 9-1-1 is impacted. As of 6:00 AM this morning, the NCT 9-1-1 systems were brought back up and seemed working. At 9:20 AM, however, notification was received from the North Central Texas Council of Government (NCTCOG) that the potential still exists to experience intermittent outages with the system. According to NCTCOG, they have no estimated time when the system will be completely restored and reliable. Technicians are expeditiously addressing this issue to restore the system entirely.

The Seagoville Police Department has a text-to-9-1-1 capability. This function is not affected by the potential outages. Check with your cell phone provider to inquire if this feature is provided. During any 9-1-1 outages, the contact number for the Seagoville Police Department Communications is (972) 287-2999 extension 1. Both Police and Fire are dispatched through this Communications Center.

The NCT 9-1-1 system serves 16 counties in the North Texas area. You can follow announcements for the NCT 9-1-1 system at their website: https://www.nct911.org/latest-news/
