On Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at 4:06 P.M., a resident of Kaufman County was robbed while loading groceries in her vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Suspects are described as three black males, one armed with a handgun. One suspect grabbed the complainant’s purse from her grocery cart and another produced a handgun. The suspect vehicle is described as a black full size four door sedan, resembling a Pontiac Grand Prix with tinted windows. The complainant’s purse was later located in southern Dallas. Police want to remind the public to place purses and handbags in locations where they are not easily accessible, and not to leave them in shopping carts, or visible in unattended vehicles. Also, it is always best to shop with a companion, and to exit stores with others so that criminals will not see you as an easy target of opportunity. Police also recommend that you scan parking areas for suspicious activity or people, and to call the police if you see something that doesn’t look right. Seagoville Police are following up leads, and have begun stepping up uniformed patrol in retail areas of the City. They encourage anyone with information about this or any felony crime to contact them at 972-287-2999.
