Officers responded to a report of a $5,000 utility trailer that was stolen from the Villas of Seagoville Senior Housing Apartments. The trailer belonged to a sub contractor who was overseeing roofing repairs. Information was received from a source who stated they observed a pick-up truck pulling the trailer from the job site on the morning of Sunday, July 25th. This source further stated that the pick-up truck had returned to the job site on Monday morning. Officers located and questioned two men who were associated with the pick-up truck and neither claimed to have knowledge of the stolen trailer. However, as police asked for identification and subsequently ran a computerized check on each subject, one showed to have a felony warrant out of the City of Lewisville. This subject, who identified himself as Misael Murgia (age 30), was arrested and transported to the Seagoville Jail pending transfer to Dallas County Jail. Detectives were able to determine that Murgia’s immigrant status to this country was in question and referred the investigation to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Detectives questioned Murgia about the stolen trailer. Murgia admitted knowledge of the trailer and the location where it was being stored. Murgia cooperated with detectives to orchestrate the return of this trailer to the rightful owner.
