SEAGOVILLE, TX- During the early morning hours of 04/13/2020, Seagoville police officers responded to a call of gunshots being fired at a residence in the 1200 block of Vincent Drive. A small gathering of people had taken place earlier at the home, which subsequently led to a confrontation and physical fight. After this initial physical altercation occurred, the instigator of the fight left the location. This individual returned back to the location with another person. While outside of the home, multiple gunshots were fired at the residence. After the shooting, these two persons attempted to flee the area.
Responding Seagoville police officers intercepted the fleeing vehicle and conducted a high-risk traffic stop. The two occupants of the car were detained without incident and surrendered to police. Through the initial investigation, it was determined that ISRAEL GALLEGOS-VARGAS, 18, of Dallas, was the individual who had gotten into a fight at the home. He left and retrieved BRAULIO NAJERA-CHAVEZ, 19, of Dallas, to return to the location. While both men awaited outside the residence, witnesses reported that GALLEGOS-VARGAS fired multiple times with a handgun towards the home.
GALLEGOS-VARGAS was found to be in possession of 9mm handgun with an extended magazine. Eighteen (18) spent 9mm casings were recovered and collected at the scene. No persons were struck or injured by any of the bullets. GALLEGOS-VARGAS was arrested and charged with the felony offense of Deadly Conduct. He was also charged with Unlawful Carrying of Weapon. The driver of the vehicle, NAJERA-CHAVEZ was arrested at the scene for the offense of No Driver’s License. Both are currently in the Seagoville jail.
