[ARCHIVED] The City of Seagoville Temporarily Suspends Curbside Recycling Program.

At the most recent City Council meeting on April 6, 2020, the Seagoville City Council voted unanimously to temporarily suspend the curbside recycling program.

Republic Services reported that it appears many residents do not have sufficient capacity for the solid waste they’re generating during the current Shelter in Place Order. As a result, many are using their recycle bin for trash and therefore contaminating the recycle stream. Republic Services requested that they be allowed to take the Recycle Bin contents to the landfill instead of the recycling center until the Shelter in Place Order is lifted and the City Council approved their request.

For the time being and until further notice, both receptacles may be used for trash but the recycle bin will be emptied on the usual schedule of every other week.
