Dallas County Health and Human Services is reporting 81 new cases of COVID-19 today, bringing the total case count in Dallas County to 2,683 with 65 total deaths to date. The one additional death being reported today is a man in his 60’s who was a resident of the City of Grand Prairie and had been critically ill in an area hospital. Of cases requiring hospitalization, most have been either over 60 years of age or have had at least one known high-risk chronic health condition. Diabetes has been an underlying high-risk health condition reported in about a third of all hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Of the 65 total deaths reported to date, a third have been associated with long-term care facilities.
On the April 21, 2020 Dallas County Case Summary, it was noted that Seagoville has 5 cases. That data is cumulative and and includes cases that are no longer active. In an effort to keep the Seagoville Community up to date with accurate information, the City of Seagoville currently has two active cases. One of the cases will come off of the list on Friday, April 24th as the 14 day quarantine will be completed on that date.
