Stage 1 - Water Awareness Stage
The City of Seagoville has been monitoring the city’s water supply and demand conditions on a daily basis and has determined that conditions warrant initiation of “Stage 1” of its Water Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan. The city has also been in contact with the City of Dallas Water Utilities, the City of Seagoville’s contractor for 100% of its water supply, and they have reported an 18% deficiency in their connected lakes. Stage 1 is only an awareness stage, but we must take action to protect the city's ability to supply essential water to its customers and appropriate flows and storage for fire protection.
Stage 1 Demand Management Measures:
No outside watering between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., with the exception of the use of non-automatic spray irrigation systems and hand watering which will be allowed all days, at all times. The use of non-spray irrigation systems and hand watering will be allowed at all times in Stage I.
Stage 1 will be in effect through September 15, 2011, or Stage 2 is triggered. Stage 2 will reduce watering down to 3 designated days per week. Any customer, defined pursuant to 30 Tex. Admin. Code Chapter 291, failing to comply with the provisions of the Plan shall be subject to a fine of up to two thousand dollars ($2,000) and/or discontinuance of water service by the City. The City of Seagoville hopes that its citizens and businesses will all do their part to assist with the conservation of this precious resource.
