Pre-Registration: Pre-registration is APRIL 08, 2022-May 06, 2022 and is required in order to guarantee a t-shirt. Registration will be available at the Seagoville City Hall, Community Development Department prior to May 6th. On-site registration will be accepted on the morning of the event. T-shirts are not guaranteed for on-site registrants. The total number of participants will be limited to 150.
Entry Forms and Fees: The fishing derby is FREE to the public. Each participant will be required to complete a form and turn it in prior to the day of the derby. There will be an informal meeting shortly before fishing begins, to go over the rules.
Check In: Check-in required to compete.
Tackle and Equipment: Tackle and Equipment is not provided by the City. Live or dead bait and artificial lures will be permitted. Each participant will be allowed to have and use one pole at a time. Please only use fishing poles or cane poles in this Derby, no nets or traps or any other method may be used.
It is illegal to use the following fishing methods in the City of Seagoville pond: trot- lines, jug lines, or throw-lines.
Fishing Location: Participants will only be allowed to fish off the bank. No boats, rafts or wading in the water.
Fishing Laws: This event will adhere to all state (Texas Parks & Wildlife Dept.) fishing rules. For TPWD rules go to http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/publications/annual/fish/. Fishing license or stamp is not required for this event.

All fish must be weighed by a judge and recorded. Award ceremony immediately following the Derby. All judges’ decisions are final.
Prizes: Winners will be announced and posted on the City’s website on the Monday following the event. Participants who are not present to accept their award
