1. How do I apply for a position with the City of Seagoville?: The City of Seagoville only accepts applications for open positions. You can download the job application online and drop it off to the Human Resources Department. We ask you not call the Department to see if your application was received.

2. What is the City of Seagoville’s policy on the height of grass and weeds?: The Code of Ordinance states that: It shall be unlawful for any person owning, claiming or occupying, or having supervision or control of, any real property within the corporate limits of the City, to permit weeds, grass and brush to grow to a greater height than twelve (12) inches upon any such real property within one hundred (100) feet of any property line. It shall be the duty of such person to keep the area from the line of his property to the curb line next adjacent to it, if there be a curb line, and if not, then within ten (10) feet outside that property line, free and clear of the matter referred to above. All vegetation not regularly cultivated and which exceeds twelve (12) inches in height shall be presumed to be objectionable and unsightly and in violation of this section.

4. When does the City spray for mosquitoes?: The City does not conduct any mosquito spraying. It is left up to Dallas HHS when to do any insect spraying. Most generally, whenever a confirmed or suspected case of insect-borne disease has been identified, Dallas County HHS will conduct the spraying.

5. What do I need to do when I receive a ticket?: You must appear at the court within 15 days after the date you receive the citation. You appearance date is noted on your citation, bond, summons, or release papers. You or your attorney may appear in person in open court, by mail, or you may deliver your plea in person to the court.* A phone call does not constitute an appearance. *Juveniles, persons under the age of 16 at the time of the citation, must enter their appearance in open court with a parent present. * Minors, persons under the age of 21 who received a citation for an alcohol offense or under the age of 18 who received a citation for a tobacco offense, must make their appearance in open court.
