The City of Seagoville is governed by a Mayor and five (5) Councilmembers all elected at-large by the qualified voters of the City. The Mayor and Councilmembers are elected to serve two-year staggered terms; there are no term limits.
All powers of the City, except as otherwise provided in the Home Rule Charter, are vested in the City Council, which provides for the exercise and performance of all duties and obligations imposed upon the City by law. The City Council is responsible for setting policy, approving the budget, and enacting municipal ordinances.
The City Council appoints the City Manager, City Secretary, City Attorney, Municipal Judge, and other officials as designated by the City Charter.
Regular Meetings
The City Council regularly meets on the second and fourth Monday of the month or as posted. Work Session begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Regular Session at 7:00 p.m. (Ordinance 2025-04)
