WELCOME TO THE CITY OF SEAGOVILLE
If you are planning to open a food establishment, whether it is a restaurant, food truck, catering business or any other food-related service, you must apply for food service permit through our office. A food service permit is required for business that prepare, serve or sell food to the public. This permit ensures that the establishment complies with health and safety standards set by the City of Seagoville and our regulatory authorities.
How to apply for Food Service Permit?
Complete the Food Establishment Permit Application: Application can be found out at our front desk, at the City Hall or you can download below. Submit required documentation that includes: detailed description of your business, a copy of your menu, Certified Food Manager Certification, Floor plans and any other documents as specified by the Health Department. Pay the application fees and schedule for Inspection. Once your application is submitted, fee is paid, the Health Department will review your submission. If required, licensed Sanitarian will contact you to schedule an inspection of your establishment to ensure with safety regulations. If the application and inspection are approved, you will receive your food service permit.

Texas Food Establishment Rules for Temp Food Services
Mobile Food Permit Guidelines
House Bill 2878 was passed by the Texas State Legislature and is effective on September 1, 2023. Mobile Food Units must obtain a permit from Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) Environmental Health. DCHHS will begin permitting mobile food units (MFUs) by appointment only. Any vendor seeking a permit must schedule an appointment.
A MFU permit issued by Dallas County is for Health and Safety inspection only. MFUs must comply with the Fire and Safety inspection requirements for the cities they plan to operate. MFUs must provide proof of completed Fire and Safety Inspection(s) at the time of inspection.
A MFU permit issued by Dallas County does not exempt MFUs from local municipal laws. All MFUs must comply with any applicable municipal zoning, parking, and/or other ordinances.
After Fire Inspection is completed and Food permit is issued from Dallas County, MFU must obtain permit from Seagoville health department if the Unit desires to set up within Seagoville city limit.
